bowhunter97
Yall can be expecting some videoed hunts from me this season. This will be my first year self videoing and hopefully i can shoot one on video and show yall. Some of thw videos will be over a feeder that is behind my house and the rest of them will be non baited WMAs. I have sat over corn on my property for what will be 3 years and have only seen 3 deer from the stand, killed one and had over 15 deer on the game camera. I guess they just have that 6th sense of knowing your are there. Haha the WMA we hunt thoigh its not unusual to see 20-25 deer a night but you cant shoot does and thats the problem. hoosierhunter
Anyone video hunts? Self filming is extremely difficult. Filming in general is hard. I've done it a few years and you gain a new respect for the quality produced by tv shows.
Rhino
Used to do it a fair amount. Went with my best friend to Iowa twice & Kansas once to video a his 7 days of hunting when I didn't draw a tag. Haven't videoed much in the past few years. That is except for my trip to Africa a couple of years ago. Videoed all of that 10 day hunt. Bought a new HD camera for that trip. Self filmed some in the past but like Pat said...extremely difficult. Rare for me to carry the video camera anymore if I'm carrying a weapon to hunt. Just that much more of a load for an old fart like me to carry to the stand.
Strut10
Almost always have the camera with me. Never know what you'll see. But I don't self-film my own hunts. Too much monkeying around for me. I do video Lil's hunts when we are together (which is less and less anymore........ he goes to his stands & I go to mine....... he ain't so "lil" anymore !!). I got some SUPER nice HD footage of his first deer !! It was an archery 8-pointer.
wtnhunt
Have shot quite a bit of video over the years and gotten one of my own on tape and a couple of my oldest daughters, but none of those were with bow. Got away from doing so much the past few years though, it is pretty tough to shoot video of your own hunts. Year before last, shot a deer with the camera during our ml'er season, I fooled with the camera trying to get video in the fog and misjudged the buck. I never put my binos or scope on him, when I played it back he was a little bigger than I thought. I should have let the camera go and shot the deer, could have gotten that one on tape. Bowmadness2186
i use to bring the camera with me in the woods but it seemed that every time i brought it i would never see anything, and then the times i would leave it i would at least see some sort of movement. so now i dont even bother with it. Ravin R10 man
I do not, last thing I want is more to do when a deer is coming in.
