Scbasshunter
Mechanicals Shooting the Muzzys with the practice blades is tearing my target to pieces.
whitetailfreak55
They do
RangerClay
Yup but so do some fixed blade broadheads. For example, my Slick Trick Mags fly just like my field tips.
WStreblo
Mechanicals I used to strictly use muzzy 4 blades but this spring I switched to the grim reaper razor tips for a bear hunt and now I'm hooked on em. The practice heads for the grim reapers do some damage to the target but the only pin I had to adjust for the mechanical was my 60yd pin
Maine Hntr
Shooting the Muzzys with the practice blades is tearing my target to pieces. Any broadhead or practice type head you shoot at your target with will tear your target up, it's the nature of having to practice with your broadheads... I know you're approaching you're season a lot sooner than i am (not until mid october here) but i don't start slinging broadheads until just a couple weeks before the season, prior to that it's just getting the muscle memory back to where it needs to be etc.
Jeramie
They do.... Keep in mind most Broadhead will fly like field points with some tuning. Most people say that mechanicals fly like field points, because they have never tuned a fixed blade head. Mechanicals out of the package simply fly better in most cases. Still not my favorite because of too many risks involved but they are proven lethal and require less work so I see why so many have went to them. Even though they arent my favorite I am carrying 3 rage in my quiver. I am still slinging my 100grn Muzzy but if I get the chance to thump a doe with a rage I will do so to see how they perform. Turkeygirl
I stick to fixed blade broad heads...less moving parts to break. I don't shoot my broad heads till a couple weeks before season. Until then it's just field points.
Tominator
In my experience, yes. Not much metal exposed to catch wind and plane.

Even though you sight in with fixed blades, you are still able to hit a deer with a mechanical or do you have 3 different arrows in your quiver sighted in for mechanicals?
