bowhunter97 Posted July 26, 2013 Report Share Posted July 26, 2013 If you see that it tore some of the black off i would get it checked out. Make sure the limbs arent cracked or split. You can run a cotton ball over them and that will catch any splintering that you may be unable to see with the naked eye. Also go over the string very well. dbHunterNY Posted July 26, 2013 Report Share Posted July 26, 2013 I agree with everyone else, I could tell you a dozen things that could be wrong and it would be really hard to notice or find. take it to a shop and have it checked out. On the plus side, I've seen multiple bows get dry fired and turn out completely fine. Although, I've seen others get bad bearings, bent cams, and tore up strings all in one shot from it. limbs these days seem to be pretty robust and can take it, but you never know or want it to happen again.
