smha6784
What is your favorite " doe in heat" scent ? Why ? Which ones have you tried? I can say I've tried a good many of them, and Tinks 69 always seems to bring results. I will give the gold cap whitetail institute another go this year. But I always find myself going back to good ole Tinks
SouthGaHuntingandOutdoors
Tinks hasn't worked for me the past two years, maybe some bad batches? I'm thinking code blue this year. I've heard it's kinda "loud" smelling though. We'll see.
whitetailfreak55
I use Mrs. Doe Pees by Sam Collora. It has worked for me and he's from Iowa so I can drive down there and get the freshest estrous.
bowhunter97
I always tend to use special golden estrus for when i go to my once a year hunt up in northern FL or GA. The deer in my zone dont really respond to scents.
Ravin R10 man
have used Tinks, Trails End, Golden estrus, and a mail order that shipped it fresh...had good luck or no luck with all of them. I had a "Hot Doe" hang around my stand one eve, and it was the best scent you could want...she would not leave and the bucks were running circles around my stand...only prob, a good shooter never showed up while I was there. High Country
I have tried several different types...personally I have had more dramatic results with Tinks 69... My uncle swears by 207... The key for me is not to use it before the October full moon...it seems to alert / scare deer before then...even year old estrus scent... Scbasshunter
estrus scent ? What's the deal with Trails End? Is it for the rut or any part of the season?
wtnhunt
Best I used was probably James Valley's scent. Tink is a member here, but I guess he quit posting. Think he said tinks 69 could be used more than just around the rut, however only time I had any luck with it was from the pre rut to the post rut, too early on and it seemed to get some mixed results. Have had a few does from time to time blow at scent bombs with tinks 69 even during the rut.
dbHunterNY
I've used Tink's69, Special Golden Estrous for estrous scents. I've used other curiosity scents, scrape scents, and others though too... many times with it.
swhughes81
estrus scent ? I really like Hunter Specialties. I use the natural doe urine before the rut and the estrus durning however I use it more for a cover scent. I have seen bucks and does alike get on it and smell it but I've never had a buck come running in the trail I made to the stand. I did start using something I read about in deer and deer hunting magazine called smokeys pre orbital gland now I've been impressed with it. I put it out put a camera in front of it and I've had great results several bucks coming in to smell and leave their mark on licking branches and the stuff lasts a long time. I've never heard of Smokey's, I've used the buck bomb acorn rage during early season, so far it's 50/50 on if it works or not.
swhughes81
estrus scent ? The way that pre orbital gland works is its like a calling card it's not a sexual lure or anything it can be used all year long it lets other deer know who's there and they will come up and leave their scent as well. It is 100% natural from a real buck it's expensive like 30 bucks for a small bottle but shelf life is 5 years and u don't use that Much when u put it out
