Scbasshunter
Is it common for a rangefinder to use up half the battery life in 2 shooting sessions?
dbHunterNY
not sure about half but my rangefinder batteries last over a year. I use it during deer hunting season (fall and early winter) and then throughout the summer for 3D archery and varmint hunting. I've got a Nikon Riflehunter1000 that uses a small CR2 lithium battery. Scbasshunter
Rangefinder batteries It must be that the battery sat in the box a while or something.
wtnhunt
Only use duracell or energizer alkalines. Never usually leave mine in the rangefinder outside of season. Rangefinder I have the first set of batteries(4 AAA) lasted a long long time, like 5 seasons and then I put new ones in and one time forgot and left them in it for a couple months after using them to range our targets and they were half dead. Leo
Shouldn't use up half that quickly. But it really depends on the battery type and rangefinder model. If you are more specific I might be able to help. Rechargeables can really drive you nuts if they aren't charged properly. Improper charging procedures can shorten battery life and capacity dramatically.
Husabud
Are you set for photos or video? Big difference in battery life.
Scbasshunter
Rangefinder batteries It just says GP lithium battery. I bought energizer to replace it. As far as I know it is just one mode of ranging. It is a Redfield Raider 500.
Husabud
Sorry, I completely misread your post. For some reason I was thinking camera. That being said, my rangefinder seemed to eat batteries quicker at altitude than here at sea level. I've always used Duracells.
