Scbasshunter
Has anybody ever heard of lowering the poundage on your bow when storing it for long periods of time?
bowhunter97
I have heard of it but dont do it. I shoot so often there would be no point
Rhino
No need to bother doing that with today's compound bows & strings.
redkneck
I'm with Al, with today's materials it's not an issue.
dbHunterNY
you don't have to and shouldn't... today's bows and strings are made with better materials. also I've seen some bows, even high end ones, that make little pops or clicks in the limb pockets when poundage is changed. nothing wrong with the bow. it just takes a little while a shooting for things to settle again for the noise to go away, but if you're monkeying with it just before or after opening day that little click might alarm a deer you're coming to full draw on.
