Swamphunter
Ok.. here we are as of yesterday.. headed out to the cabin yesterday morning to finish up a few details, and although it was supposed to be sunny... it rain.. poured at times.. until lunch time. I immediately started the wood stove and with-in 30 minutes, the cabin was nice and toasty. Finished up the rest of the battens over the porch, insulated the last couple of windows, cleaned up some scrap wood and piled it for burning, and then went to the Amish saw mill and inquired about my cedar decking for the porch. Found out the Amish guy hurt his arm and it wasnt ready. Might be another week. Im only going to lay the decking in place when I get it as I want that to shrink before I screw it down so I dont get large gaps on the porch boards. I also started the wiring for the electrical last evening with my buddy however I didnt get a picture of that.

JMO but I am thinking Natural Rustic Hickory. LOL with a Milano Quartz Formica top. Or solid butchere block top.

JMO but I am thinking Natural Rustic Hickory. LOL with a Milano Quartz Formica top. Or solid butchere block top. I will get you the measurements this weekend... I haven't decided how to configure kitchen other than the center of the sink is exactly 4ft from the front of the cabin on the left side centered under the window. (Its the side of the cabin with the single window)

Swamphunter
My front wall cabinets need to be 4ft and the side wall cabinets need to be at least 6, no more than 8'.... that is measured from the same corner...

Swamphunter
Well up to date progress is, the cabin is all wired for a generator and then to be converted over to solar in the future. I have a few more light fixtures to install next week, but with the opening of hunting season, I'll be in the woods with my son this weekend. I did pick up some really nice looking dark oak cabinets for the cabin and then had the guy at the lumber yard use his computer program to show them in place. The only one Im not using is the tall pnatry style cabinet.... it will be too close to the door. But here is what Im looking at...
Swamphunter
Here are the cabinets.. they are in excellent condition and I paid almost next to nothing for them! There are a few more sitting behind where I took the picture from, but I couldnt get them all in the same pic together, there are 8 cabinets all together... I will sell what I dont need...I guess he was sick of walking around them in his garage....

Swamphunter
I could bunk there for a month! Hunt, sleep and eat...is there a trout stream nearby?? Actually there is a brook that cuts through the 70 acre parcel and ironically the name of the brook is "Trout Brook".... I've never fished it though, but there are plenty of minnows in it so I'm assuming it holds trout of some sort.
