I have mixed my own loose with dical. Never tried that one though. Does it matter what flavor koolaid rhine? May have to give that a try.

Usually use deer cain here, buy what wally world has on clearance after season ends. Trophy rock seems to be the best draw in my experience.

The kool aid and sugar is nothin more than an attractant to get them to smell it William. Usually use grape. Baking soda is the main ingredient in deer Cain from what I understand. Usually use a box per lick.

Here's a link where it is talked about extensively. http://bullnettlenews.com/forum/yaf_postst34548_Whats-the-best-lick-mix.aspx.

Post #3 on that thread is a good one as well.

This year I used a cattle mineral called sweetlix, trace minerals, baking soda, powdered sugar, and grape kool aid. The sweetlix has dical already in it. From what I understand, dical is for antler development in bucks and lactation in does.

Yes, that is correct. Just as calcium is needed for bone for human developement. Interestingly enough have read some discussion that trophy rocks do not have dicalcium phosphate, but not sure that is true. You can buy loose dical for cattle at rural king stores or other feed stores or coops.

Yep. Obviously not directed to you William, but a little tip to those that didnt necessarily grow up around a farm or have a basic understanding of fertilizer, seeds, minerals, etc., learn what everything means. From the fertilizer percentages and what each of those target, to what kind of minerals have value.

From my experience, most of the mass produced blocks and seed mixes are much more expensive than what you can do cheaper and more efficiently by mixing your own.
