wtnhunt
Man that is on up there Lewis. Your bracing has to be more secure than it looks, looks of it would make me a little nervous and I am not one to really be afraid of heights. You forgot to post some pics of your view, oughta be a real good vantage point.
Dawg
You are a lot braver than I.
NS whitetail
Lol Luke ........ the comments from the wife ? I have one more 8 foot 2x6 to put under it from the middle down to the tree for another brace, it is also sitting on two limbs and I put 5" spikes and 5" leg screws in every brace. It is very strudy ........... and it's only 28 feet or so off the ground lol. Here is the view from the stand I had in the tree before I put the house in it yesterday, it's the same height. This fall will make 24 years straight hunting from that tree.
NS whitetail
In that second view picture, I shot a buck 438 yards away, we had about a foot of snow on the ground so I decided to take the shot knowing that I would see if I hit him or not and sure enough I nailed him. It was the first year that I had my Browning 300 WSM. Those power poles are 100 yards apart. Most of the bucks that I have taken from that tree have been between those first two poles you see in the first picture.

Stinger-Hunter
I'm nervous for you, brother. That doesn't look that stable. You'd know better than I would, but I got queasy just looking at it. Think: High Wind!!
dbHunterNY
I here you with the branches underneath, despite it doesn't look good. lol my dad's stand is condemned now I think. it's getting a bit worn and supports underneath are shifted from growth too much. same type of setup. trying to find a ladder stand to replace it but nothing high enough. Think: High Wind!! lol ......... it's is attached to the tree with 5 " spikes and 5 " leg screws ( 1/2 " ones ) along with the braces. I am 205 lbs and I jumped up and down on it and it hardly wiggled ........ as far as high winds ........ I won't be in it if it's that bad lol
Ravin R10 man
I suppose with the conditions you ride out on the open sea, this is realatively safe...however, I would have went with power poles or treated posts..wind, trees, and nails or even lag bolts just don't go well. I'd rather you hang a chain around the tree and securely onto the house...just in case...be safe out there
The Bug House
Looks great! But it must be a pain to heat at that altitude!
wtnhunt
Great views from it Lewis. Far as the winds, bet you probably don't even notice when the tree sways with your time on the water.
