Zizzer59
2 weeks ago I was getting half-dollar sized groupings at 30 yards and the past two days I can't hardly get softball sized groupings at 20. The worst part is I was supposed to do a 3-d tournament this Saturday but after today I decided to pull the plug. I don't know what it is but its making me sick. Anyone else having this problem? smha6784
The worst thing! I'm guessing you haven't changed anything in your set up?
Stinger-Hunter
I hate when that happens. Hoosier Hunter is right. It's concentration, mind wandering. Here's a great sports psychology drill. Sit and visualize hitting the bullseye for 5 minutes per day, twice per day. Remember the day you had your tight groups, the wind, the weather, the feel of the bow in your hands. Do that for a couple days and BOOM, you should be back to it. Good Luck! fly
Has happened to me before: here is what the causes were: 1. Sighted in on a nice day - 70's. A week later it was in the 90's and I was sweating so bad my glasses would at times slip down on my nose changing the way I looked through my peep. Took me a while to figure that one out. 2. My sights were not tight and were moving ever so slightly after each round. 3. Shooting after my limit. My best shots are the first 25. After that a little fatigue starts to set in and my consistency slows. If I take a 15 minute break I'm back on target.
dbHunterNY
yea could be a lot of things... - mental target panic stuff (you won't admit it but you'll know it). or maybe you're not shooting even arrow as if it's your first. - form and fatigue from shooting or maybe you did something physically strenuous some time before you shot. - if you don't feel you changed anything maybe something loosened up on your bow. - light hitting your peep will make you see through it slightly different on say an overcast day versus a sunny day. Straight Shooter
If its been more than one day of shooting larger groups. I would tend to lean more towards timing or your rest has moved. Especially not grouping at 20. Don't stress yourself out, just check the square of your arrow on the rest. Also, cam timing.you could be fighting something physical on your bow and making it mental in your head.
