dbHunterNY
Lately I've seen woodchucks all over the place driving here and there. Dad is complaining he's got more holes in his fields this year than ever. Every day I drive by a newly built college dorm on the way home from work. New landscaping all around it and I've counted half a dozen woodchucks during a single drive by with holes dug in mulch around trees, sides of banks, etc. I've got them back under my shed at home too. I swear the things are practically as bad as hogs. Thank the Lord we don't have both up here. Haven't had time to get out much at all to keep ones I can in check either. Heck I've only nailed 17 so far this year, which is down right lousy. Sorry venting over.
wtnhunt
Sounds like the makings for some good target practice with the .223. With the season on them open been seeing the rotten crows all over around where I cannot shoot them, they have been avoiding our place, wonder why. lol. We got moles tearing up our yard here, get washes in the tunnels where they run down hill. Really makes a mess too when you hit their raised tunnels on this uneven ground or hit one of the ruts from the tunnels washed out. Would rather have the hogs or chucks that at least pop their heads up.
dbHunterNY
well I've got to rid the fields and yard of at least two more with the 223, which shouldn't be at all difficult. then i'll be into triple digits for chucks taken with that one rifle and feel like it's paid for itself. I forget if we have a crow season here. they haven't caused much of a problem though unlike your situation.
