IndaBushez808
So like an idiot after my last hunt i accidentally left my scent lok savanna jacket in the storage bag of my atv for a week where i keep a small spare gas can in there too. when i took the jacket out the jacket smelled like gas of course and now i dont know how to get out the gas smell. I looked on google for suggestions on getting gas smell out of clothes. I tried washing it with carbon clothes detergent, soaking it coke and washing it and then i tried washing it with regular laundry detergent and white vinegar, it helped somewhat but u can still smell it a little bit. Probably because its a carbon clothing. Didnt run it through the dryer yet to activate it as i dont want to activate it until i cant smell anymore gas. ANy suggestions? Or I'm guessing im screwed I dont want to chance wearing it in the field only thing i might bring in would be an arab not a deer lol
wtnhunt
Dunno, maybe try washing in baking soda a couple times. Welcome to the forums.
redkneck
Welcome! Write them a really nice letter telling them how you love your clothes and would like to know if you can get the smell out, maybe they'll have an answer, or maybe they'll send you a new one if you're complimentary of them. Happens all the time.
Rhino
Welcome! Write them a really nice letter telling them how you love your clothes and would like to know if you can get the smell out, maybe they'll have an answer... That sounds like a good idea to me. I'm sure their web site has a contact option. I bet they've had this happen before. Haven't ever done that with any of my carbon cloths. Other than the contact Scent Loc option & washing in baking soda, you might try googling up the question on the web. Welcome aboard!

WStreblo
oops How to get gas fumes out of my Scent Lok? not smart I've heard of some guys burying their clothes in some dirt for a few days... Don't know if it will help. I'd hang it and leave it outside and blast it with some scent killer over and over again and see what happens. Dawg
Go buy a big bag of charcoal and stuff the jacket in the bag. Let it sit a day or two or three.
