smha6784
As I sit here waxing my string, I wonder what kind of wax do you guys use and how do you apply??
HunteratHeart
string wax Right now I use standard Allen wax and I like to heat it up just a little so it's easier to apply. Ima start using red hot lube and wax just to see if its better or the same. But if you think about it wax is wax and as long as you put it on the string you will prolong your strings life. dbHunterNY
I've tried lots of them from Bohning, Allen, and others. For a while now I've been using BCY X-Wax with no reason to use anything else. Makes sense as they're the one making the string material anyway. It's pretty soft so it's really easy to apply simply with your fingers. No need for a cut piece of leather or anything to work it in. I don't like the idea of heating up the string anyway with all that friction. You don't really need to worry about working it into the string real good... the string is already waxed from the factory and the inside of doesn't see the light of day anyway. just apply a good but thin coat around the outside surface regularly. Leo
I use Scorpion Venom Polymeric Wax. I'm very impressed with the stuff. I switched over to it three years ago. Use the little leather patch that comes with it. A little wax goes a long way!
