Planned on planting a pea patch this morning before the rain moved in and then moving on and fertilizing and liming our clover plots. Was loading stuff in the tractor bucket to carry back when it started sprinkling about 7:30 'ish. Forecasts called for rain to move in about 11, had plenty of time, or so I thought. Two different forecasts had 0 % chance until 11 and only a 30 % chance then with better chances for rain to move in tomorrow. We did need some rain, but not this much. Think they must have overlooked something cause we have gotten about 2 inches of rain and it is not 11 yet. Oh well, too wet to do anything here now cept maybe find a boat and float around.

Plans for the labor day weekend pretty well blown. Even if it quit raining right now don't see the ground drying out enough before Tuesday to broadcast this pea mix.

Bummer. We got the opposite. Forecasted rain, but got nothing.

Same in MO. Checked radar ~7:00 this morning & a big area of rain was ~40 mi. NW of our place moving SE. Mostly dissipated before it got there. What little was left passed to the S. Hasn't rained up there in almost a month now.

Not sure the total rainfall we ended up with I know we picked up at least 2 inches in the pool in about 2 hours early on this morning and the water was pouring out the skimmer with it still coming down heavy. Bottom here is completely underwater now. Everything still flooded here when I rode around on the 4 wheeler.

Did end up fertilizing and liming the clover plots with the little tractor and the tow behind broadcast spreader this afternoon after it quit. The ground I had prepped for the peas is moooosh, no way I am getting anything in there, my size 13's sunk when I stepped in the edge of the disced soil.

Bummer. We got the opposite. Forecasted rain, but got nothing this weekend. I want to work the Oliver in some lawn repair and moving the vegetable garden, but the ground is like rock out there now.

Same here also. The last rain that the farm I hunt got was on August 7th. I tilled and limed on the 10th, and haven't seen a drop of rain since. The 10 day forecast doesn't have any in it either. We had scattered showers over the weekend, but everything missed the farm. Supposedly EHD is starting to show up there again too.

I think we got 22 inches from the last week of July through the end of August.

Luckily, for me, I got my plots worked in at the right times. Just finished up on Tuesday by mowing the big clover plot for the fall and spreading 900# of 10-10-10 on the turnips. Looking like we will have some nice plots this fall.

Seed I planted is a mix of 3 types winter peas, frostmaster, secada, and whistler and was coated with deltag. As much as I did not want to really had no choice but to have to plant on Wednesday afternoon. Pretty impressed with this seed, got germination 2 days after planting with only the moisture that was left in the ground and whatever humidity is created in the way of morning dew. We really need some rain now though and none in the forecast until Wednesday.

Will try to get some pics soon.

Wow, that is a lot of moisture. We had too much early on in the summer but it slacked off a lot. Agree timing is key, but sometimes mother nature does not quite cooperate. Been pretty lucky here in the past most of the time.

We had pretty significant dieoffs about 5 years ago here, kind of thought this year might be a bad one with the flies being so much worse than normal early on in the year, but we had a pretty wet summer. Have not heard any news about how bad dieoffs have been yet.

I have never found a dead deer that ehd claimed, would think the river bottom here would find a few in bad years.
