I hate sports.

Years from now when historians look back at the causes of the decline of this great republic our absurd fascination with sports will be listed as a major contributer.

You doubt?

As the man on the street who his elected representatives to the US congress are and you will get a blank stare. Then ask him who the starting line up of his favorite team and his eyes will light up and he'll rattle off several names.

I think there is something seriously wrong with that.

The worst thing is how sports fans assume that everyone is as fascinated with their games as they are and have no qualms about polluting every venue with their silly talk.

Even though there litteraly hundreds of sites and venues specifically for such topics.

Even RT has a forum for sports yet you see people posting in the lounge and wherever else they see fit.

How about people put their sports talk in the venue where it belongs?

It's sooo much easier to ignore that way.

So what you are saying is you can't read????

Title clearly says FOOTBALL TIME.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. But to me you lost more valuable time I'm your life typing all of that negativity, rather than just moving on. I didn't notice a sports place in the forums but no worries I won't make the mistake again, in fear that you may become disgruntled.

Don't worry ultradog is just mad his team lost. Wanna take bets on who his team is? Maybe his team is a perennial loser, or a bad childhood experience with sports? Either way, the downfall of our republic well be political correctness! Sorry to hijack your thread. Now back to the original topic, LET'S GO FALCONS, RISE UP!!!

Now there's a silly reply.

Oh, and what does political correctness have to do with this?

Everything. Everyone is worried about hurting people's feelings. Don't say the wrong thing, don't be harsh, bite your tongue in order to not offend. Make sure not to point out one's disabilities. Make sure everyone gets a trophy for just showing up. Are those enough examples of showing a society how to not try and strive and wussify a nation? Screw that, honesty is the best policy. Some of us are fighting daily to improve the country. Go find a political forum to whine in! Don't like the thread, stay off it. Don't like sports, an outlet for some of us? Don't comment. No one here needs your high and mighty opinion, now shove off and let people who enjoy sports a moment to talk! Buh bye!

I agree entirely with what you say. But what does that stuff have to do with sports?

You say: "Honesty is the best policy." Which is what I was doing when I bashed the games.

And you say: "Some of us are fighting daily to improve the country." I guess my way of trying to improve the country doesn't sit well with you?

And: "Go find a political forum to whine in."

Deal. If you'll talk about sports only on sports forums.

foot ball time !!!!

That's it I'm jumping into this one... When historians look back on these times they won't say our economy failed because the browns lost to the steelers, they won't blame the 49ers for high gas prices, they won't blame the dolphins for wars fought on a taxpayer credit card. They will blame money and power hungry legislators. Seriously sports as a downfall???? C'mon... That's the absolute worst proposed cause I've personally ever heard of. Who cares where smha6784 posts a football thread. Free damn country and free damn forum. I don't see one complaint above from any other contributor or from any administrator other than you.
