pruts
Right on Tyler, congratulations on the doe. I skipped hunting yesterday on account of rain, and I mean we got a tone at about 4:30 just about the time I'd have been getting up. Not going to be out the next couple of days and then I'm off on wednesday for ten days moose hunting. I'm pumped and can't wait to get to camp. Good luck everyone. MNhunterr
We had a light rain/mist most of the day... Cleared up an hour before dark but nothing showed. In the woods again tonight. Perfect SW wind... Got out a little late but we will see what happens. Awesome job on the doe!
whitetailfreak55
Same way here mn. I haven't seen a buck yet. With the warm up I doubt it but you never know. You can kill one sitting on the couch so I haven't missed a day
MNhunterr
Passed a 4pt and a 6pt. Both came in at 10yds. At least they are moving a bit. Where are the does!
pointing_dogs_rule
Passed on 2 8's Sunday night. good luck to all the dog
pointing_dogs_rule
Checked my trail cam and this guy showed up. Too bad he has a broken G-1. If he comes by me, it'll be tempting, but hopefully I can do better. I just love BIG EIGHTS good luck to all the dog

MNhunterr
Do you hunt the same stand every time you go out Whitetail?
pointing_dogs_rule
Do you hunt the same stand every time you go out Whitetail? If the question is directed at me, then the answer is NO. I have 12 different stands and hunt them according to wind direction (first), time of day that I am hunting (second) and then the deer that I am seeing in that area. I will not hunt a stand if wind direction is not optimum. good luck to all the dog
whitetailfreak55
I don't hunt the sane stands either. I have 14 different stands to choose from plus 7 more at my farm down south. I had a spike come in and work a mock scrape I made before I climbed in. I video tape all my hunts too so it was pretty cool to get that on camera
MNhunterr
How much property do each of you have?! Damn. 12 and 14 stands...
SouthGaHuntingandOutdoors
We've got 8 stands on just over 300 acres. A few more are getting put up once the season is over, plus some more tree trimming will get done too. Never done working on getting the advantage! whitetailfreak55
I have about 400 acres up here then another 400 down at the farm. I need to get the farm set up more.
pointing_dogs_rule
I'm kinda lucky in that I am a DVM. Most of my beef and dairy clients give me archery access to their property, if I ask. Currently on about ten farms and always looking for different locations. After so many stands I think that maybe I spread myself "thin" and second guess where I should be hunting. good luck to all the dog
MNhunterr
Thats awesome. Here I am hunting a 40 acre farm and a family owned 80 acre piece of land!
whitetailfreak55
You kill great bucks on 40 acres. I've seen some absolute monsters on little tracts like that. It has to be the right 40 acres
pruts
I have only a couple stands, each on a different farm. One is a small bush maybe only 20-30 acres, but it seems to heavily traveled by deer moving from one bigger bush to the other. The second is much better for gun week due to it's location in a cut that was made for a pipeline to pass through the bush, I got just over 100yrds to either end. That bush is much larger, over 100 acres easily.
