Not good! Still waiting for a set of strings for my PSE Evo compound bow. it hasn't come in yet. This weekend I found out my Bear recurve was defective. the bow was sitting there and the glass laminations just separated from the riser. this caused the top limb to snap and break. That means I'm done for now. Hopefully I can get strings for my Evo or talk to Bear archery and get this recurve replaced by the weekend.

I spent this past weekend putting a new steel roof on our shack. We didn't have nearly enough guys but it is done. I hurt in places I totally forgot that are a part of my body. The temps are supposed to drop this week though so I'll finally get a chance to get out. Here's a pic of our handy work. It isn't perfect but it is certainly functional.

Thought tonight was the the night to put some points on the board...Had a nice 7 pt on the trail to cross 10 yds in front of my stand and at about 40 yds out, he turned right and went behind my stand and winded me...he ran back the way he came and milled around in front of my dads stand(he took the night off)with 5 other deer ...then at 6pm 14 does and little ones came over the hill in front of me but stand just out of bow range...then 10 turkeys came feeding up the hill behind me and roosted 60 yds to my right...headed out at 630 and get down to the and there are 2 doe feeding 10 yds in front of my blind, I hunted in on Saturday evening...All in all it was a great evening sit...Thats the most deer I have seen in one sit in along time....

Well, it seems to be picking back up here with the October lull about over and the acorns falling like rain drops. Haven't had an opportunity to take a buck yet but put #3 Doe on the ground Thursday morning. She was 5 yards from the tree and got to have her Muzzy Moment then shortly after taking a dirt nap.

I hope the rest of you all are having some luck and be safe out there..

got hit with the flu, ear infection, strep throat, physically beat up from totaling my car (other driver failed to yield, turning left right in front of me), and then still haven't received what I need to get a bow together to hunt with. getting a bit difficult to hit the woods this bow season. season isn't over yet though.

congrats Andy and snake! So I've got a replacement string for my Evo compound. turned it all the way down to 60lbs but it was still a little sore to pull back this past weekend. today I feel a quite a bit better seeing how it's been over a week now. by this weekend i'm thinking i'll be back in the woods so the deer will be in trouble. not sure how gun season will work. not thinking highly of taking my 30-06 out with my shoulder, so I might use the bow.

Well, my hunting season is basically over except for the Thanksgiving and Christmas shutdowns. I will be starting a new job in Montgomery Alabama on Monday and be gone 5 days a week. Severely cuts into my hunting time because the wife is going to expect me to stay at home during the weekends. I went yesterday with no luck, it stinks too because the rut is right around the corner here in GA. Good luck to you guys and be safe out there.
