hammerforged
Been a busy summer. I am running about 3 months behind right now but will push any CHRISTmas orders to the front. Saw something I have never seen before the other morning as I was taking my grandson to school. Noticed a flock of wild turkeys working along a brush line on the side of the road and right in the middle of the flock was a piebald one. Unfortunately South Carolina does not have a fall Turkey season. I hope he makes it to spring and I will be fore sure trying my luck. Who else has seen one of these beauties? wtnhunt
Welcome back Ross. Never seen one quite that white'ish. Have heard of some around not far from here that are a result of domestics that got loose.

hammerforged
Hey everyone - managed to get a little closer yesterday morning. Sent these pictures to the NWTF, the report back from Josh is that the consensus is this is a "Smoke Phase" wild turkey. No interaction with domestic turkeys causes this according to them. Just a rarity. He said it is rare for one to make it to this size because of their lack of "camouflage". First one they have heard of in this area for quite some time. jbeck
nice pic ross, I have seen them but rare. Pap shot a pure white gobbler in Montana one spring but not the smoke phase.

elkoholic
That is a pretty neat bunch of pictures. I have seen a few different color phase turkeys but none were as light colored as that one. Too bad you don't have a fall season, but hopefully he will still be around next spring.
