I cant wait til tomorrow afternoon at 2:05 when i get off of school and get to go hunting. Im also hunting saturday morning and afternoon hopefully gonna get a buck killed on cam. If weather conditions were a danger for driving, like snow or ice, they'd close schools for that purpose. Not for hunting season though. Good luck. redkneck Posted September 12, 2013 Report Share Posted September 12, 2013 I never got one off, we just ditched school on certain days lol. Used to we had "doe days" when i was in high school. It was the only time of year you could take a doe with a gun. I never used to kill does with a gun so it was no biggie to me, but half the guys in school would be out, it was the best day of the year for them lol. Good luck to you! The district next to mine used to get opening day off because all of the bus drivers took the day off. Nowadays, they no longer do that. I scheduled my Monday, Wednesday, and Friday classes around the middle of the day the best that I could. That way I could take off & hunt close during the week and get Friday afternoon through Monday morning to hunt. Tuesdays & Thursdays were generally my heavy load days. Her dad couldn't make it because of a national guard commitment. I went instead and was struck by how many guys were in camouflage. Then realized it was the first day of bow season. Wow!!! Poor planning on the girl scouts part, but kudos to all the dads that went with their daughters. They were GONE at EXACTLY the moment the event was over and tore out of there truck tires smokin' Ha Ha! Never had a day off cause of it and likely never will see it. I think PA might, though.
