I lip squeaked at him and he turned on a dime and came to 5 yards. He was smart enough to look up but stopping at 16 yards not so much. Go figure I let it rip and spine him. Always been concerned with shooting a yote first and not spoiling the deer hunt, although i've only probably seen a handful on stand.. I know what you mean, I hunt mostly mass so on the eastern part of the state Urban hunting is mostly all you have for options, little pockets of woods everywhere, I am often only 200 yards from houses including my own at one stand set and find the deer still move between me and the houses. I try and get up to my place in Maine a couple times of year which i enjoy because it's big country up there compared to home, they both have their pros and cons. I've came up with a NY predator slam, consisting of a fox, bobcat, coyote, and black bear. I want to take all of them with a bow here in NY. The bear and bobcat worry me. can't bait here so that makes it harder. took a red fox a while back and a yote is only a matter of time.
