dmcook
I am going to try mechanicals this year, I just bought T3 broadheads even though most of the reviews I read on the Cabelas website were not very good. Has anyone ever used these? What kind of performance? Thanks
redkneck
Welcome to the forums. I haven't personally shoot them but my best friend had and I've tracked some of his deer with t3 holes in them and I'll say they do a lot of damage. I never liked the clips personally on them. He quit shooting them the next year. Like any Mech bh, I think the shot angle plays a role in how they deploy. That's just my 2 cents, I'm sure they'll perform for you, they all do to some degree and G5 makes quality products.
whitetailfreak55
I bought some to try this year. I usually shoot the montecs but heard some good reviews on the t3s so figured I would give them a try.
Maine Hntr
I tried them 2 seasons ago and shot one deer with them, hit 3 or 4 inches higher than my mark and only 2 of 3 blades deployed, I wanted to give them a second chance but I shot a few out in the backyard and similar thing happened with not all blades deploying, I also didn't get very good penetration. I wasn't a huge fan of the spider clip system either. I'm not a product basher though, people use them and have good luck with them and G5 does make quality products, i'm just not a huge fan of the T3, try them for yourself though. WStreblo
T3 broadheads I bought some a few years back and ended up giving them away. The best mechanical broad head I've personally used is the Grim Reaper Razortips. To each his own right? I hope that whatever broad head you use works for you. dmcook
Thanks to all for your input, your opinions are pretty much the same as the reviews, not all the blades deploying,breaking/bending blades etc. they seem to work great on TV shows maybe they're only showing the good ones. I guess I'll stick with my NAP Hellraisers, Good Luck to all this season.
redkneck
Yeah, you'll get as many opinions on a mechanical as there are people you ask. No doubt they fly better and no doubt they're proven killers. Good luck no matter what you go with. Folks love their mechanicals until they feel they lose one because of them lol. Straight Shooter
These heads and any mechanical are a hit or miss for functioning correctly versus a fixed blade that is pretty cut and dry. A long time buddy of mine switched to the T3's two seasons ago and had great success with them, his only complaint was the spider clip and the intensity to get the placed right for tension on the blades. Personally, I like the simplicity of a fixed blade, but that is only my opinion. I have killed deer with Rage 2-blade, G5 Tekan II but always go back to my Muzzy's.
