ruttinbuc
Sat in the corn the other night looking to tag a doe. The bucks would have been easy, but as usual the doe's are a little matter. [video=youtube;mK6GWYenssE]

wtnhunt
Nice clip Mike. Those little guys here could almost go as antlerless deer. Was that a yote's ears at the end? Looked like the movement of a yote, not a deer, all i could see was ears. Thanks for sharing with us.
Ravin R10 man
got it now, up close for sure, would be tough to draw and have to turn to shoot in corn, unless you had cleared a shooting lane
ruttinbuc
Thanks guys! Nice clip Mike. Those little guys here could almost go as antlerless deer. William, that was the second little guy dropping down over the rise of the field. There are a lot of young bucks running around this year. I am having a hard time seeing a doe, lol. That is unusual got it now, up close for sure, would be tough to draw and have to turn to shoot in corn, unless you had cleared a shooting lane I'm a couple of rows in, Martin. It was a weak spot on the edge there that afforded me plenty of room. I got away with quite a bit hand holding the camera. Always a question if I could have got away with it with a mature buck. It is fun trying. In hindsight I'm thinking that the doe picked up on that buck's little alarm scent. She stopped put her nose down and then scent checked the air. She must of caught just enough of my scent in a finicky breeze to give a short blow, turn and leave.
Ravin R10 man
snuck in on geese with my bow once that way..got to 20 yards and got a shot off too..all I got was feathers..misjudged the distance a little
Straight Shooter
Rut, that is some great footage and looks like a lot of fun. Others hunters wonder why I get all flustered more when a big nanny walks out versus a big. These girls don't miss a thing and just makes my heart pound because I know the woods can come crashing down in a heart beat if they suspect anything wrong. Good luck to you, and I look forward to seeing a video of a doe being shot:)

RangerClay
That was great! Looks like you may need to brush in your blind a little more. That 8 point made you out in a heartbeat.
ruttinbuc
That was great! Looks like you may need to brush in your blind a little more. That 8 point made you out in a heartbeat. I wasn't in a blind, Joe. I have not set in a blind yet where the deer are not suspicious whether it is blended in or not. The deer here are conditioned to blinds as danger just as they are to bait sites. As for that 8 point, had I picked up my bow instead of my camera I 'm pretty close to sure I could have got a shot. He knew there was something there, but he didn't know what. I say close to sure because as eall know there is no sure thing in this stuff except the fun! I shot almost all of my Earn a Buck doe just this way. Thanks Straight Shooter! I'll try for a video kill, but the hunt comes first. Its hard to do both without having deer come to a dinner plate and put its head down at a given distance. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
