thought about it but don't really need it. looking at one the other day.... the Savage B-Mag that is. not the smoothest bolt but no doubts it'll be a shooter. was going to get one for woodchucks and other varmints in areas closer to neighbors and where sound might be an issue. I've hit the areas hard enough with my 223 that not much is left to worry about. what little critters are left there I've dealt with. guess it's more of a want than a need right now I suppose.

Seems to be some hype around the round. Sister in law's ex husband told me he wanted one, does not seem to know what use he has for it other than to plink. Don't guess I see where there would be any advantage to owning one for me. I am curious how effective the round will be on yote sized predators though.

Last week, on Wednesday, I delivered a fellow a Savage B-Mag .17 WSM. He was all gushy about going prairie dog hunting with it.

Friday I had a call-tag label from Savage to go back to his place and pick it up.

I said to him "the .17 Super not so super ?" He said "piece of junk won't even fire !!" He had not put it back in the box yet and I got my first look at a B-Mag. DUDE !!!!!!!!! WHAT A PIECE OF PLASTIC JUNK !!!!!!!!! I think my little girl's Red Ryder weighs more !!!!!!

I can't believe that they can't make these things fast enough to meet demand. It seriously had the same heft, look of quality and feel in my hands as a Crosman pump-up pellet gun you can get for $45 at Walmart.

Think I'll sit tight until they come out with this case chambered in 5 mm (.204) or in .22 cal. It's almost inevitable that they will and there will be much more bullet weight choices. Interesting cartridge though.

Yeah I think your right. Who would have thought a nail gun blank would be used as a production round?
