KSHoytHunter
Hey everyone. My parents purchased their property about 5 years ago. For the last couple of years we started getting serious about growing bigger deer. They live in SW MO and to see a big mature buck is kind of a rarity. He found out after he purchased the land that the previous owner killed deer and turkeys year round. So there was basically nothing left. So we started putting out food plots, mineral stations and have only taken 3 deer off the property. Then last year he lost a bunch of deer to EHD. It's been frustrating to say the least. But when he checked his cameras last week this guy showed up! Needless to say we are jacked. It is probably the biggest buck either of us have ever seen in SW MO. They just dont grow that big or they dont get to be that old. This is a buck we named Goggles. We saw him a couple years ago and then we didnt get any pictures last year of him. We knew he had some potential but didnt realize he would do this. He's also got some other bucks that look to have a lot of potential in the future. He probably has 2 other shooters this year if we get the chance, but this one is the biggest. The pictures arent very good. My parents have a computer but they dont have internet. He took a picture of the screen of his computer with his cell phone and then sent me the pics. There is also a flyer coming off the back on his right side. Neither one of us are very good with guessing score or age, any ideas of what you think he might score or how old he is? Appreciate the feedback! wtnhunt
Mature deer. At least 4.5. Hard for me guessing scores on non typicals. That said I would guess 160 ish.
bowhunter97
Id say about 4 and 150-160 somewhere in there
WStreblo
Patience paying off He carries his mass well out thru his beams. Good looking heavy deer. I say he's about as big as he's going to get. If y'all let him walk this year I don't think you'd see him put on to much more in regards to antlers. I would also say he's at least a mid 150's to mid 160's gross. Hope one of you whack him. It's good to see what some QDM gets you isn't it? KSHoytHunter
Patience paying off I was thinking 4.5 and 150ish. When trying to guesstimate him I got any score from 148-154. Like I said, he's also got about a 6 inch flyer off the back that you can't see in these pics. The QDM is certainly a lot of work but it does pay off. The biggest deer I've ever seen while hunting, in SW MO, was probably 140's. He definitely is the top of our hit list. I was just back there for the first few days. He didn't show up on camera until last Monday. I won't be back until November. My dad is gonna be hunting him. He wants me to shoot him but I want him to shoot him. I really hope one of us gets a crack. I also hope he stays close. There's hunters all around and I'm pretty sure there's a couple guys that poach. WStreblo
Patience paying off I hate poachers. I'm not sure how much land y'all have nor how it's laid out with good sources, cover and water... But I'm willing to bet he's comfortable on your property and the more you provide them the more you'll see them stick close
