swhughes81
Hey all! I wasn't planning on getting a new bow this year. I have a Parker Hornet. It's been a good one, however I was just notified yesterday I was the grand prize winner in Hunter's Specialties give away and won a brand new Mathews Creed!! I have never shot one or owned one, anyone got any tips or advice or info on em? Are they as good as advertised, seems like everyone on tv shoots a Mathews. swhughes81
My first bow was a Hoyt Rebel I loved that thing killed my first bow deer with it. I always have thought Mathews and Hoyt were the top 2 bow companies.

swhughes81
new bow Not sure yet was thinking of just using the arrows I have and the tru glow sight but I don't know they are all dated I've had that bow 5 or 6 years now, my Parker. Any suggestions?
swhughes81
new bow Was looking at G5 rock iq bow site or maybe just another tru glow
smha6784
new bow Man, the QAD HDX rest and an HHA site you can't go wrong. I switched to the HHA single pin and I'll never go back, the sight picture is unbelievable without the clutter of pins. A lot of manufactures are making adjustable single pins now and eBay has some good deals
bowhunter97
I have a single pin HHA on my bow and the pin size along with the room i have because i dont have multiple pins helps alot with shooting out further than just
swhughes81
new bow Really I was afraid the one pin system wouldn't be as accurate or u would have to adjust for yardage on every shot? I thought about one of those IQ bow sights with that retina lock thinking it will help me keep same position every shot. I've only ever used whisker biscuits u think I should go to a drop away rest? I've only ever used a drop away rest. Once you get it tuned in its really a good option. As for sights, I once thought about getting the retina lock as well but like someone pointed out to me on here it's just one more thing you have to check before you shoot. smha6784
new bow Shooting a fast bow like the creed, set that single pin @25 and rock n roll. I don't tightin my slider, adjustments are easy if need be.
MNhunterr
WStreblo must be a Hoyt dealer.... A sponser of Hoyt... or be sponsered by Hoyt. Every thread in the Bowhunting forum is being taken over with HOYT FOR LIFE comments. Sorry for the small rant and I know its all in good fun... We know you like Hoyt - But try not to take away from threads by spamming it. He asked for opinions on the new Mathews line, not Hoyt. abrown
Mathews? Oh you mean THAT OTHER bow. right? LOL, add up all the years the other bow companies have been in business, and it still wouldn't equal the length of time Hoyt's been in business, the only one close would be Bear. I don't know anything about the Creed, most of the guys I know have the Z7. I'm sure it's a good bow, pretty sure all the companies are good, it's just preference. As far as a 1 pin system, Cam Hanes uses it, so it can't be too bad.
whitetailfreak55
Personally I don't like the single pins. I'll stick with my 5 pins and shoot. Idk anything about the creed but a buddy of mine shoots one and loves it. He's a Mathews guy though lol. He said its smooth and fast so I'd imagine its good. Heck its Mathews top bow so it can't be bad lol

I'm not a Hoyt dealer or a dealer for any other bow company, I'm not sponsored by Hoyt nor do I sponsor Hoyt. I just own some of their bows. Yes I am a huge fan of Hoyt but I don't bash someone for liking or using another bow brand. I can see where some of OUR posts can be a sidetrack to the thread content. I apologize to you since you brought it to my attention that you had an issue. Also I apologize to the author of the thread if he feels its warranted. As for the bow mentioned in the original post, after work I went and had the pro shop set up a Matthews Creed so I could shoot it so as not to offend anyone by commenting on the thread any further. It's a nice bow and I can see why the Matthews faithful like it. It's fast, low noise, and very little vibration and recoil. With quality accessories I'm confident it's one of the quietest bows on the rack. It's speed alone will help extend your range on deer by getting the arrow to the target faster. I have shot the bow once in a shop with just standard shop equipment thrown on but can say that you hold a quality piece of equipment. Hope you enjoy it and good luck on your season. dbHunterNY
Man, the QAD HDX rest and an HHA site you can't go wrong. I don't tightin my slider, adjustments are easy if need be. good recommendations. i'd still practice shooting between 5-35 with the single pin fixed at 25 but yea i agree should be good to go. i even picked the larger 2" housing so i can use a larger peep and let in more light and additional fiber length. the housing pushes in or pulls out to expose a certain amount of fiber to perfectly set the brightness of the pin. about the bow... make sure you get the drawlength right. you don't want to buy a new Mathews cam to change it. other than that it's a nice bow. congrats! WStreblo
new bow Well I just re-read my post and I do bash Todd(smha6784) for his bowtech. I like arguing with the guy. He gives just as much jawing to me as I do to him. I hope Todd never buys a Hoyt or what would we have to argue about... Cream of wheat vs grits, Big Ten vs SEC, Blue vs Grey?
