Rhino
The only people I take hunting with me are the ones that have actually spent time with me afield scouting and doin the sweat work of hanging stands. Or whatever chores need to be done on the property we hunt is our attitude too. The only exception to that rule for my buddy and I is for a good client we have coming next month. He'll help do whatever he can while he's there though so he's not a load if you know what I mean. Amazing how some hunting acquaintances up & disappear in Jan. & Feb. not to be heard from again until Oct. with the "when you going to invite me deer hunting" calls. Why do I refer to them as acquaintances? Cuz if they were friends we'd hear from them more often, especially when we need the help. I understand your blood boilin...hope the copehhagen brought down your blood pressure Wes.

How bout guys you work with that see a pic of the deer on your property and they start bugging you all the time? Drives me nuts
Rhino
It helps Rhino! I agree with you 100% on the friend / acquaintance comparison. How bout guys you work with that see a pic of the deer on your property and they start bugging you all the time? Drives me nuts That's the main reason outside of this forum, besides my buddy, who owns most of the property and our kids, I'm only sharing trail cam pics with the friends that have shown up to help us do chores on the farm this summer, including hanging stands & trimming lanes for them. The total number of guys besides my son that came to help us work was...2. The majority of the work still gets done by my buddy & I though because we have more free time. The others have to use vacation time and those 2 guys did that. Apparently the acquaintances don't have a clue how much time it takes to scout to choose a good stand position, then haul it in, hang it, & trim it properly. Much less the 35 treestands we have set & ready to hunt now, excluding our 5 pop-up blinds. Got a few in reserve left. Oh...& the 7 food plots we had to prep & plant that many of those acquaintances that are calling would take for granted. A farm chores list could go on & on. My back hurts thinking about it. Time for some Aleve. Sorry for the rant.

smha6784
Hoyt / tech treaty ?!?! I quit sharing pics with the members of our club, seems they have a thing for hunting your stands while your not there if they see something on your cams they like. They don't know where my stands or cameras are anymore, they have an idea but they're too lazy to go find em.
HunteratHeart
Hoyt / tech treaty ?!?! I don't ever tell people where I hunt cause you do have people who will go and get permission to hunt the land and then screw all the work you have out it up. I show pics of small deer so they think area stinks. You only show the big buck pics once you kill the beast. You show them a trail can pic and they freak out and then you say yea this is what he looks like dead and you show them that picture lol
Rhino
Heck Al, all I wanted to do is hunt with the Turkey master .... Dang Luke...you should have signed up for the Kansas turkey hunt with Tim in April. I'll be there!!! From there I'm going straight to MO for their opener. I don't have a place in MS to turkey hunt next spring. Long story but I'm out of that club. Got an invite to play guide and be 2nd shooter with a friend of mine at his Alabama club next spring though.
VermontHunter
Wish I could have Al, but things are so tight here when it comes to funds everything squeaks. Even more so now with this new health care fiasco ,,,
