pointing_dogs_rule
I usually wait until Oct 15th or later before heading to the stand, however, 53 degrees, overcast and a northwest wind was too much to pass up. 2 non-shooters came by. This one has good potential, in my opinion, if he makes it another year or two. Racks are not usually this dark around here. He has the mass and width.... he just needs to add more points, more width and more length. He was at 15 yards a few times and browsed on the beans for 45 minutes. good luck to all the dog
dogdoc
that's a tough pass. that looks like a really mature deer. around here after 3 1/2 years i usually don't see a buck add more points---just length, width, and mass. I don't think i would have had the will power to pass on him. todd

hoosierhunter
1st night out Not a big rack but I'm leaning towards mature. That's a roman nose/head for sure. Do you have trail cams of him? Either way if you didn't want him it doesn't really matter how old he is.
Ravin R10 man
He sure has some mass now...Id say a 3.5 or older, send him north, I know I'd take him
pointing_dogs_rule
I don't see the "Roman nose". Guess I live by the saying: "you'll never shoot a big one if you fill your tag with a small one first". Assuming you only have one tag. There a better bucks out there. good luck to all the dog
jbeck
Nice buck, Depending on where I was at as to if I would shoot or not, JMO. Here at the house he is down, First day in buck rich area, probably not. You still have his picture and you don't have to skin him.
dbHunterNY
hope he lives then. he looks a little thick and old in the face from the pictures but I wouldn't be able to judge just by the two. you got a much better look at 15 yards. Tominator
Nice deer. Based on my situation here with limited hunting time, I'd be tempted to shoot that thing.
wtnhunt
Looks like a mature bodied deer there to me too. Around here, no way one like that would be let to walk.
