bowhunter97
I can shoot either beman ics hunters 400 at 8.4 gpi or easton flatlines 500 at 6.5 gpi. My bow isat 60lbs and 27 inch draw. Which one would yall shoot with my set up?
dbHunterNY
I assume your bow is still an Alphaburner, your arrows are 27" long (throat of nock to end of insert), you're using a mechanical release, and point weight is 100 grains with standard inserts. the flatline 500's would be border line weak but still ok if all was as I said was true except that your alphaburner's brace height is less than 6.5". the low brace height requires you to choose as if you were shooting more like 65lbs. also the flatlines have thinner walls and their spines will break down sooner over time when shooting a shaft too weak, compared to a heavier hunting arrow with thicker walls like the ics hunter. that said i'd go with ics hunter 400's between the two. if you want lighter and faster go with flatline 400's, if that's an option despite you not mentioning them. they would be 7.4 gpi compared to the ics hunters at 8.4 gpi. bowhunter97
I knew that they were borderline on being to weak but i didnt know that with my brace height that i have to select as though it was 65 lbs. learn something new every day lol
dbHunterNY
finger release add 5 lbs point weight over 100 grains, add 3 lbs for every additional 25 grains overdraw of 1" (+1 lb), 2" (+3 lbs), 3" (+6 lbs), 4" (+9 lbs), 5" (+12 lbs)
dbHunterNY
arrow length, bow poundage, point weight, and brace height are really the only things that you'll encounter that will effect your spine selection.
