Rhino
Got home late yesterday from my 2nd MO road trip. Longer one this time though since we had farm projects to do too. The afternoon of Sept. 28 was fun. Lots of action for a stand with a limited view to ~35 yards...less in some directions. I was cutting off several trails going to a bean field during an overcast, on & off light rain afternoon. First doe to come through stops at ~10 yards. Looked tasty...drew & as I'm coming to full draw she decides to trot into the bean field behind me. That's the way my luck had been to that point. About 20 minutes later here comes 3 nice size does. The lead doe stops at ~12 yards. I got that shot...arrow hits her in the heart & she crashes barely within sight of the stand at ~35 yards. My kind of tracking job. Relaxing & taking it all in now then ~10 minutes later more movement in the brush in front of me. 2 more does work toward my left...one stops just the other side of a tree I'd ranged at 25 yards. I got that shot too...arrow hits double long. Didn't see her fall but she only went about 75 yards before crashing. Here's my afternoon double. Rhino
That one doe is a big nanny! What did they dress at? Didn't bother weighing them Pat. I'm the cook when we're up there so I was trying to get them hung in the cooler (behind me) ASAP so I could get started cooking supper. She was a bigun!
