Ohio Early Muzzleloader

I'll be out... hoping to drop a couple does this weekend. I'm sure the 200 inch buck will step out as well and I won't be able to do anything about it.:D

Happens every time. Two of the biggest bucks I've ever seen, I was pheasant hunting. :D

You could take the bow, but if you do, you won't see anything. :D

I will be out. I wasn't really fond of the idea but we need to try new things. I am hoping it will stir things up a bit.

I agree. Should be interesting. According to the email I got from the DNR one of the reasons they are doing this is to reduce the does which will increase the competition for breeding rights. Sounds good in theory. We'll see.

Either way, good luck to everyone!

Got out Saturday with a couple of buddies. We heard a grand total of 3 shots. The last one I heard was at 9:30. Pretty sure the first 2 were muzzleloaders, but I don't know about the 3rd.

I didn't hear any shots during the afternoon hunt, didn't see any hunter orange driving around Sunday either.

I'd like to see the numbers of deer tagged this weekend. I would guess it's less than what the DNR wanted. I still say Ohio has overharvested in the last few years. I haven't hunted much, but when I have, the overall numbers I've seen are down.
