Ultradog
I'm a little late to the party here but it's an interesting thread none the less. I'm thinking all this anti bullying campaign is just more of the sissification of America that's going on. I do understand that the stuff that goes on today is different than what some of us experienced as kids but to charge a kid for manslaughter for bullying someone to suicide is ridiculous in my opinion. People who are emotionally unstable enough to commit suicide would likely find another reason to do it if they weren't bullied.

Politically correctness has gone bonkers! we took away all references to GOD, Prayer is out..anything goes!! Right and Wrong is not instilled into our youth for the most part today...and that starts at HOME!!! most don't get that at home either...Tolerance is the WORD of the day..unless you don't agree then YOU are the INTOLLERENT one...REALLY? Well said. Kids myself includrd are taight to tolerate everything and not have a voice for what they think is wrong or right. Off topic here but you can't voice your thoughts on anything that is politically incorrect without be harped on by many. Society as a whole is in a horrible place. And shows no sign of stopping. Never dud I think about if I had a kid but I pray and hope I can instill in my boy and aby other kids I may have my values and morals. Be they right or wrong but there better than where we are at right now Sorry for being a little off topic here guys on my rant.

That's not always true, I am living proof. I have an overwhelming sense of responsibility to teach my children the difference between right and wrong. I totally agree with you however, it starts at home and WAY to many people wan tto be a friend to their kids instead of a parent.

wtnhunt
Sitting in a stand for my first solo hunt of the season, so gonna have to go back and read through this later on. But will post about recent issue we had. Our 8 year old son, Will, has come home from school and said he has been bullied by a certain kid. Had issues throughout the year. That kids mother is a teacher and is friends with the teacher our son had. Will is high functioning autistic and is a bit different. Hurts your heart when you send your kid to school and he gets picked on for something beyond his control. Makes me wonder about some of these school shooting and the suicide issues. Social media is obviously a factor but not for 7 and 8 year olds. I called the teacher out in an IEP meeting in front of the principal, she did better at keeping our son and the other kid from interacting. Not sure about the laws in your state but now that the school is aware that teacher can lose her job if she does not suppress the bullying her son is doing. Here in NY if a child with an IEP was being bullied the police would be brought in.
Ravin R10 man
seems to me, back in school when someone got bullied, they took only so much, the "OTHER person"(bullier) got a bloody nose...and for the most part they became good friends! WHAT CHANGED???
NS whitetail
Bullying is a terrible thing for sure. I also have a hard time wrapping my head around this “ cyber bullying “ thing. My theory is, if someone is bullying you on a certain website like fb or whatever, STAY OFF OF IT.

Easier said than done for kids in this day and age. When a kid has any type of internet presence, their friends will tell them what is going on or their people who know them will tell them whether through messaging or physically face to face at school. Our 18 year old daughter in her sophomore year of high school was manipulated and stalked by a bad news kid who used multiple various types of accounts with several different names in his efforts to not let go after she finally came to the realization the kid was no good. The boy did not even go to her school. She deleted all her accounts and still would hear from friends what the puke was saying. There had been some tragic deaths in her graduating class and a couple suicides from middle school through high school and so she is very sensitive to that. The boy manipulated that and would tell her if she dumped him he was going to off himself. The high school SRO was made aware that this kid was not stable and could potentially be a school shooter. We made reports to law enforcement and had numerous calls to the boys mother, finally he got the message. On 11/14/2019 at 8:39 AM, RangerClay said: Well done! They are not allowed to be near each other on the playground or in the cafeteria. That boys mother teaches at a different school, but she is friends with the teacher our son had last year, they go to church together.
