bowhunter97
When people talk about their love for hunting and how much they hunt but yet you dont see the first picture or when they invite you to go hunting you get the initial "hey man do you want to go?" And thats it. No call later on or anything. And when you ask them if they are still going they always find some excuse why they didnt go or when you invite them and need them for a work weekend or tell them how the hunt is they magically have something else already planned. I call them fake hunters. The ones who may go out 1 time a year and they aren't willing to put in the work of walking half a mile in knee deep water with a 25 lb climber and a bow just to pull it out at the end of the day. They are all talk and no action. Sorry just my little rant on a few people i know.

PotashRLS
These types exist everywhere in the world, in all aspects of life. They go well with the "one uppers". Hunting is mostly about the journey and the achievement. The harvest is the icing on the cake. I wouldn't dwell on folks like that too much. The world is round! bowhunter97
Yea i just had to blow off the steam. Getting that one shot is what we do it for but just being out there to watch the sun rise and set is awesome to me. Seeing the different colors of the sky and the wildlife is pretty neat. Straight Shooter
Aaah the fair weather hunters and hunters wanna bee's. Been there done on several occasions all ready this season, typical, I've got access to 200 acres and never been hunted". I'm like well "Let's Go", then dead silence and nothing else from them. These are the ones that always want deer meat after the season is over, I just tell them you should have gone out hunting.
WStreblo
Something that gets in my nerves I made the mistake one time and only one time of letting who I thought was a good friend who talked a good game about how well he hunted and how he was a good shot etc, hunt in one of my best areas. I had told him a really good shooter buck liked to walk this bench and check the creek bottom below... Sit tight and you should see him 30-45min before dark. He met me at the truck mad that he didn't see a deer and blamed me for ruining a day of hunting for him. Next day I was checking a camera and found an empty bottle of soda, 3 candy bar wrappers and a half eaten sandwich on the ground by his stand. He blamed me!!!!???? I know it's a bit different than what your going thru 97 BUT..... It's a valuable lesson for you as you get older and have more options in the future. hoosierhunter
Something that gets in my nerves There are all different levels of hunters. The more dedicated you become the less you have in common with other hunters. The hardest part is judging the person. This takes time to accomplish. Unfortunately I'd said over 75% of hunters embellish their abilities to varying degrees. Most common is their ability to judge and pass deer. Here's a quick tip. When someone says "man those are nice deer" about a picture. That almost always means they will kill that buck if given the chance. If they say a boarder line shooter, that means they WILL kill him, they just haven't gotten the chance yet. If they ask how old you think he is, they probably can't age deer if it's a good side profile.
dbHunterNY
join the club... that's my cousins and brother. just went into a blind I setup the other day and my brother and cousin completely didn't try to be undetected. horsed around in the blind and got busted. i'd have a talk with him but right now he's all busted up from a dirt bike race gone bad. they have every right to hunt the way they do within laws and regs. i'm going to tell my brother and cousin not to hunt in my ground blind. if they aren't doing so with all the right considerations in mind (i'll list them all) and if they can't figure out if it's a good time or not then ask me. that's how you've got to approach it. stevebeilgard
my dad called them "armchair hunters". they would rather get an outdoor life magazine and read about hunting, than actually go hunting.
