johnf
My nephew is looking for an inexpensive deer rifle. As some of you know, I am a big fan of the H&R/Nef riffles. I was looking on Wal-Mart.com and found these guns. Does anyone know anything about them? I know how the H&R handels and shoots, so I would hate to suggest something that is just a few bucks cheaper that wouldn't perform. But, he wants to save as much $$ as possible. Any comments are welcome. JF
JimT
Re: Braztech Rifles I do not know much about them. I would buy the Handi first though.
AJ
Re: Braztech Rifles The Rossi is a cruder version of the Handi Rifle. Try to imagine a rough version of the Handi and you have it. The fit and finish are not as good as the NEF/H&R 1871, but it is generally the same gun. You have a few more options with the NEF/H&R 1871 than you do with the Rossi. Yes, it costs a little more but you haev the extra barrel offer that H&R has. Rossi says they are implementing an extra barrel offer sometime this year, but they don't offer as many caliber choices. Personally, I would steer him towards the Handi Rifle.
huntaholic
Re: Braztech Rifles Id go with the Handi rifle. Right now i own the Bull barrel 223. I can keep em in the same hole at 100yds. I almost bought the rossi but by local gun shop suggested I buy this one. I got it for a little over $200. I was in the same situation in you nephew i am only 13 and dont have much money
too_pointer
Re: Braztech Rifles Sounds like the Handi Rifle Besides, he's your nephew so I'm sure you will give him the extra $$
Guest ketchum
Re: Braztech Rifles I have shot a Braztech. It was in .243, not very impressed. If your O.K. with a two inch group at 100, it would make you happy. The NEF shoots much better. This is not my opinion it's my actual experience!! Guest lilcrackshot
Re: Braztech Rifles I would go with the Handi Rifle over the other single shots but if you were willing to pay a little extra you can get a Savage bolt-action for $350 or so with a scope, sling, case, and boresighted. These are some very accurate rifles too. Happy huntin!

Most of the scopes they put on those combo deals I wouldn't buy.
