HunteratHeart
Hey guys does anybody have any tips on best fixed blade broadheads out there? My broadheads don't fly near as straight or as accurate as my field points. I can hit a quarter at 20 yards but my broadheads won't even be on the target lol. I finally turned one broadheads to where it flys straight and I can hit a softball at 30 but that's the only broadhead that works. So any tips? Rhino
Many forum members here know...ever since I switched to Montec G5's, I've stuck with them. They've always shot as true as my field points. Ohiobucks (Tom) mentioned some other new broadheads here in another thread he said shot as true as his field points too but I haven't tried them. You may have to do a search for that thread if Tom doesn't chime in here.
abrown
I love Wasp BOSS SST, fly pretty much like your field tips. There fixed blades made for high performance bows. The chisel tip is sharper than muzzy's, and solid SS.
bowhunter97
I havent shot them but the ramcats seem like pretty good heads. I almost bought them this year but didnt. I'd look into them.
HunteratHeart
fix blade tips Well I'm also shooting a 1984 bear compound so just slapping a broadhead on I don't think will work haha
dbHunterNY
with the correct tuning that bow will shoot any name brand fixed blade broadhead well. they should spin perfect though, meaning your inserts must be square on each arrow. i'd check that first. RangerClay
Swackers are not a fixed blade. Give Slick Tricks a try Slick Trick Shoot just like field tips and affordable. I use the Slick Trick Mags myself for about 7 years now and have no plans to change.
HunteratHeart
fix blade tips Thank you guys. I'm thinking about just sticking with the old pieces of crap broadheads I have now and next year when I get my up to date bow I will get mechanicals like I have on my crossbow. Thank you for the input saw some new company names I've never heard of.
Ravin R10 man
I love Wasp BOSS SST, fly pretty much like your field tips. There fixed blades made for high performance bows. HunteratHeart
fix blade tips See I use rage on my crossbow and they lay the smack down on em. But for a old bow I don't wanna spend 40 for broadheads I probably will only use once or twice
Straight Shooter
with the correct tuning that bow will shoot any name brand fixed blade broadhead well. they should spin perfect though, meaning your inserts must be square on each arrow. i'd check that first. Absolutely, both ends of the shaft have to be square with the nock seating square and the inserts for a true spinning, meaning no wobble on either end of the arrow. If you're still getting erratic arrow flight then its more than likely a bow tuning issue. I've shot Muzzy's for almost two decades now and have field point accuracy with them. fly
fix blade tips Been through a lot and I don't think I'll go back to expandables. They are awesome for accuracy and cut diameter, but I get less penetration on big bucks. I give up a large cut diameter for maximum penetration and accuracy. Steel force phat heads are my favorite currently. Thicker blade and cut on contact tip.
Turkeygirl
I've always shot Thunderheads...great broadhead. They fly very well with my fieldpoints, only had to adjust my sight very slight bit. I'm shooting them this year on arrows fletcher helical with blazers and what a difference!
