Dawg
Well I'm tagged out in Colorado. Didn't get muy grande like I wanted but it doesn't always work out that way. The buck I got is just a fork horn that will be another hat rack in my house and meat in the freezer. I'm happy that I was fortunate enough to fill both elk and mule deer tags. Dawg
Thanks for the kind words folks! I'm sitting here waiting to see if my dad can fill his tag this evening. If he does we'll be Texas bound in the morning.

Dawg
Thanks again guys! We're back home now. Dad came home with tag soup. He shot a good buck but we didn't recover it. We tracked it for ~400 yards down into a canyon thick with cedar and scrub oak. Only found about five spots of blood about the size of a penny. It was bubbly so we thought it was a lung shot. The brush started getting thick and the blood stopped....then we found very fresh lion tracks headed the same way as the buck. We chalked it up as a loss for us and a gain for the lion! I'm sitting here rocking my baby girl now....life is good.
arrow32
Glad you had a great hunt! Hate to hear about not finding it better tag soup is better than being lion soup.
