ruttinbuc
The bucks are on their feet. Just before these deer showed up I had a very nice chocolate racked 8 pt at 20 yards. My bow wasn't even up in the tree yet. Rather than possibly spook him i could only watch as he made his way down the hill. The big guy in the video was dogging a doe and would not respond to my calling. Of course the little guys do.. I'll have a decision to make if either buck shows up the next time in that stand. They both have potential although the brows on this one are a bit short...
Straight Shooter
Good luck with him, he'd be taking a dirt nap if he came by me:)
hoosierhunter
Shooter...Yes/No I thought I was looking at the same buck but I scrolled through the video. I'd say he looked fully mature to me and in the mid 130's as a score. If I had multiple tags or if nothing was bigger on cam I would kill him. He's a great buck for almost any hunter. FYI the overall odds in the US of killing a P&Y buck are 1 in 12,000. The odds of killing a booner are 1 in 70,000! That information was pulled from our Indiana deer herd report via the IDNR from 2011 I believe.

wtnhunt
No question a shooter here Mike. Gun or whatever I have in my hands a deer like that gives an opportunity it is getting killed. FYI the overall odds in the US of killing a P&Y buck are 1 in 12,000. The odds of killing a booner are 1 in 70,000! That information was pulled from our Indiana deer herd report via the IDNR from 2011 I believe. Don't hardly believe those numbers. They may hold true for big buck states like Ohio, Kansas, and Indiana, but here I would guess you have as good a chance of winning the lottery as you do of taking a booner. PotashRLS
Nice buck. I agree with Pat. If he is at the top for your local bucks, he is a taker if he trips your trigger.
ruttinbuc
Yes, he is a definite shooter where I'm at. I just put it out there to see who wouldn't., lol. There is such an emphasis on the antlers that a lot of guys will pass on a buck like this looking for a deer that don't exist where they hunt. The trouble this day was that I was in a gun stand that was above the branches. If I were lower there was a time when the deer was 25/30 yards away ad I might have been able to shoot. I'd be pumped with this buck, for sure. I hope he shows up again.

I mean simply the minimum "Awards" list. neighboring counties have had some in the past but yea.
Rhino
Like others have said Mike...your call. JMO but size isn't the important thing. If you're after mature bucks you've got one there. In most places I've hunted in MS mature bucks with at least 8 points on their head are shooters in the 120 class range. A lot different bigger where I'm hunting in MO.
