dogdoc
I started having some lower back pain friday morning and knew right away it was a dang kidney stone. I had one about 13 years ago so I recognized the pain. Had to go to the ER yesterday when it decided to shift a little and put me in a very agonizing pain. After some morphine I was better. They did a CT scan and I have a 6mm stone lodged in my upper ureter. So tomorrow I have to be knocked out and the urologist is going to push the stone back to my kidney and put in a stent. This is my second stent. Go up my peepee through my bladder into my ureter and ends in my bladder. Then I have to have lithotripsy next week to blast the stone into tiny pieces. They will leave the stent in for 2 weeks then when they remove it hopefully the tine pieces will slide on out. Gonna be a fun 2 weeks and right in the middle of hunting season:hammer1: todd
wtnhunt
Been there, no fun. Never had to go to the er but almost did about 8 years ago. Baking soda and water can help dissolve them. Drink lots of water.
redkneck
Dang that hurts me just to read. Sure hate that Todd. Best wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery!
philray
Kidney stones suck! It's got to be the worst pain I have ever expirenced. I use to have them every six months, but haven't had one that hurt in a couple of years. Hope all goes well for you.

Randy
My girlfriends mother is going through the same thing right now. Hers was 11mm. Its been a week and they are going back in on Friday to decide if they can remove the stent or if they need to "blast" some more. I can't feel your pain but I have a pretty good idea of how you're feeling. I hope it goes well for you. Adjam5
Yikes! Been there 2x myself. So in my best Bill Clinton..." I feel your pain" After the lithiotripsy, you feel like you've taken many shots to the kidney by Mike Tyson. The stent is NOT one of my favorite things in life. Don't forget you have pee through a screen bottomed cup to catch the particles so they can figure out what is the cause. good Luck and feel better soon. Rhino
Hate to hear you agonizing over that. Never had one but know a number of people that have been through it. Hope the lithotripsy gives you some instant relief.

too_pointer
Todd, glad you are almost throught it. I have been there also, and not too suprised on how many members have had it before either. I have gone through some nasty pain before, and that takes the cake LOL. Nothing else has brought me to my knees !!! too_
ruttinbuc
Glad to see you are getting through it, Todd. They are no fun. My brother has a history of them for the last 40 years. I just experienced one at the beginning of October. I spent a day in the hospital and was fortunate enough to pass it there. My brother always told me of the pain and now I can certainly sympathize with him and anyone who has gone through that agony. It is no wonder that people wanted to gut themselves back in the day before there was a diagnoses or a fix.
pruts
That sucks bud. My wife had a stone that lead to infections while she was pregnant with our second daughter, while I've never had one personally I have a good idea of what you're going through. Good to hear things are moving along and hope you have a speedy recovery

Tominator
Been there. Luckily docs now have my calcium in check with the parathyroids gone, no more stones for me unless the parathyroids grow back. Lithotripsy is the way to go for sure, but the pain before is the worst I've ever had, and you know my history.

dogdoc
well i had the lithotripsy on monday and it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. I was just a little sore around my left kidney. The biggest irritant is the stent. It is very uncomfortable and stings when i pee. Go back to the dr tomorrow to see if the stent can come out. thanks for the wishes todd
LETMGROW
Glad to hear all is going well. These things hurt. I don't know why they have to have all those sharp pointed things all over them. Lynn
