bowhunter97
I found sone rubs today and wanted to get an idea on how old they are. I know one is real small but im talking about how long it has been there and one is huge for this area and i want to know how long it has been there and which deer probably did it. bowhunter97
And now which buck probably made rub 2? or
dbHunterNY
those pictures aren't the best... a fresh this year rub will look brighter and colorful. if it's real fresh you'll be able to feel moisture still on the exposed part of the rub. also if you look down on the ground you'll find the scrapings on the ground or if it's from earlier this year they will be under a little bit of leaves. wtnhunt
Hard to say what deer makes a rub unless you see him do it. That said, from what I have seen around here a small antlered deer will not typically rub coke can and larger sized trees. Big deer can and will rub small trees though, have watched good bucks thrash saplings, and seems we get one every now and then here that thinks they need to kill all our cedars regardless of size. Ravin R10 man
no way to know which buck rubbed it...big bucks will rub small and big trees..little bucks generally do not tackle big trees
