LETMGROW
I'm pretty sure the 48 car is going to clinch the title this year. Jimmie will have his 6th. championship in NASCAR'S premier series. No doubt this team is at the top of their game. Can he and Chad be beaten? LETMGROW
Congrats to Jimmie, Chad, Rick Hendrick and the whole Hendrick organization. Job well done. Love them or hate them it can't be denied they are a force to be reckoned with. Congrats too to Denny Hamlin in his first win of the season. Good season, looking forward to Daytona in February. MUDRUNNER
It's unbelievable. Jimmy is in some pretty good company in the record books. Isn't that like 6 championships in 8 years? I don't follow NASCAR like I used to, but did catch the end of the race.

clrj3514
If he keeps this up he'll have as many champions as his number is. I don't care for someone dominating a sport, but it is impressive.
LETMGROW
If he keeps this up he'll have as many champions as his number is. I don't care for someone dominating a sport, but it is impressive. It's funny how you say this. NASCAR seems to be different from other sports. People like Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Hank Arron, Jackie Robinson, Wayne Gretsky, Wilt Chamberlin, Dan Marino, just to name a few were revered and loved. They were among if not the best, yet people still loved and respected them. Drivers on the other hand are looked down upon when they dominate their respective jobs. Look at Jeff Gordan for example. How many folks booed him when he was announced at the line up ceremony? Because he was no good? Just the opposite IMO. He was at the top of his game and a dominating force. Dale sr. was also a love or hate person. What he did for the sport of NASCAR racing will be remembered for decades if not forever. Yet, there were people who claimed to hate him. Meanwhile these fans stood by to see whose cage he was going to rattle next. They loved Dale but didn't want to admit it. That wouldn't have been cool. I have met Jimmie Johnson on at least three occasions. The first was at Dover where he got his first Cup win. The last was this past October at Charlotte. He is a joy to talk to. Humble and down to earth. Chad is no different. Once the race starts they are all business. These guys are all business and I respect them for it. I believe they earned their status as the best of the best. I don't think this can be disputed. BTW, I am a tried and true Kyle Busch fan. I have to give credit to those who deserve it most though. WStreblo
Jimmie Johnson #48 Kevin Harvick fan here.... 6 championships in 8 years is impressive no matter what the sport. I respect that and the amount of commitment it takes to achieve that... I'm still going to yell at my tv and hopes someone puts him into the wall. Lynn Don't get me wrong, I respect him a lot! I'm just not a fan of a sport's championship dominated by one person or team. That being said, the dude's a beast!
