wtnhunt
Always time to kill the rotten things here and there is plenty of them around. They are open year round. Missed one on the run with the bow at 25 yards about a month ago. Only one I have seen so far this year, but hearing them regular.

dbHunterNY
crazy how many there are and yet you don't see them that often. groups around here after deer season run dogs. each group will get two or three dozen coyotes by spring turkey season. It was the distance of 2 yards that separated me from getting this one I've been after for a while with my recurve bow. heck I don't even bother with the fur sometimes. I've taken them with a 300 win mag.

Other than that I'm blowing them away

Most been with the .223. After I got done getting my deer gutted and hanging in the garage yesterday, heard a couple groups of yotes howling. Was about an hour after dark and one sounded like it was in my pasture with my cows, never can seem to catch up with them in the pastures when it is dark, not legal to shoot them after legal shooting light ends anyway. I never got on that AR bandwagon. wish I did because now I can't here in NY because of the "SAFE Act". I think the AR15 is the best medicine for yotes. was going to get one have a offset red dot at 45 degrees for close in shots. oh well maybe someday. wtnhunt
Had 2 try to sneak through this morning right at light along the river bottom. First one got by and into some brush before I could find it in my scope second wasn't so fortunate. May have to drag that stinky male out, group of does flaked out on me about 15 yards from him about 2 hours after I shot him. The 270 was the right medicine this time, just what I happened to be deer hunting with. But yeah the rock river is my go to predator weapon of choice. wtnhunt
Now that's a nice looking yote right there! Best kind. Popped another from the same stand this morning, tried sneaking behind me. Had to turn around in the ladder stand, made for an awkward shot. Hit my bow hanger with the barrel when I was turning and he picked up his pace, gutshot ooops. Shame, had to use another round.

wtnhunt
Popped another one from that same stand this morning after having a group of does spook. Expired just off our property so did not get to check if it was male or female.

RJ Pollock
I just started hunting coyotes and I've been bating them in this field where I hunt. there's two deer and some gross venison that was barely edible. all of this meat is under a chain link fence. The coyotes have been in there every night for almost two weeks now. It's been kinda random times there's no pattern of there movement. I don't know if I should sit and wait for them to come in or call them in. because I might have to wait all night but if they're in the area I should be able to call them in. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks
