PriceRacing35
Today is the opener for the Missouri Rifle Season. With forecasted 20-35mph sustained winds and gusts up to 40. Anybody headed out be careful and be aware of any deadfall in the trees above. Good luck. Aim small, miss small.
hoytshooter09
Just watched the news and they had a story of a guy here close by to kc that was riding his four wheeler out hunting this weekend and a tree fell on him and he died. Sure not the way anybody should go but with the winds we had pushing 40 mph gust its very dangerous out in big oak stands.
Zizzer59
How did you guys do? I had a small doe come in at 10 yards saturday afternoon but too small to shoot. I didn't go out sunday cuz it was storming down here. This morning I had a big doe at twenty yards but the sun was in my eyes.
hoytshooter09
Saw one buck early sat then had two does go by then about 8:30 right when it started to rain had a big 10 step out I thought I had a clear shot but I clipped a branch and missed completely and the deer ran about 200 yards and got shot by my neighbor then Sunday morning had a nice 9 pt come through my ridge about 7:30 and he ran maybe 10 yards after the shot. Not to many of my friends have seen much at all though but my weekend was good.
PriceRacing35
Missouri Saturday was slow for us. I saw one doe early before the rain. Then nothing. My dad was on the other side of 400 acres in a bottom and saw 4 does and 2 3.5yr 8pts. One of which the neighbor shot at and missed from his tractor. Saturday night. I sat on a ridge between bedding areas. I sat for 30 minutes scanning the other side when I noticed orange and it was our Mennonite neighbors to the north. I saw nothing all night. But the Mennonite shot at around 4:50. Never saw him drag anything out. Dad was still in the bottom and he rattled in one of the 8 points about 3:30 and he also had a Mennonite by him. Who was looking through his scope at my dad. Guessing he was wondering why my dad didn't shoot a 110" 8 point lol. Sunday morning I sat on a pond bank between two fields and saw a small 6pt cruising and then a blur of a nice buck running up a timbered ridge. With the wind I knew a grunt wouldn't of been heard. So I went to grab the antlers and the buck circled back and was at 40 yards at a dead run. I grunted to stop him and he stopped just behind a cedar and then took off again. Never had a clear shot. I guessed him to be about 130-135 10 pt. still not the big one we are looking for. Sunday night. We both got skunked.
PriceRacing35
Missouri And also I heard around Stockton Lake. A 16yr old kid was shot in the arm by his friend who supposedly though he was a deer.
