jesse8953
Can anyone tell me if I can send a rifle to a ffl dealer? If so buy what company? ups? or fedx? I am not a ffl dealer and mine wants $25 plus shipping. I don't mind paying him to do a weapons charge when I buy a gun but to ship one seems like he wants money for doing nothing. Maine Hntr
I don't know exactly what the law is but I would guess you cannot just ship via ups or fedex or at least legally. Sounds like a pretty fair charge for getting it done and done right with the $25 charge...

wtnhunt
I might be wrong but i think some ffl's will take rifles by ups by an individual. Some require that you send through an ffl. But yeah they take your money for the transfer for not really doing anything. I know gun broker different sellers have different rules and some non ffl sellers specify that you ask your receiving ffl if they will accept from non ffl's, usually is an additional charge if they don't. Gregg (snapper) has his ffl.
terry264
Jesse, double check with the receiving FFL and make sure they will accept the firearm and don't forget to write down what is supposed to happen with it after he gets it. Might be a good idea to include a copy of your drivers license in the pkg. or ask them if they need it. USPS rules say you can do it; just remember to NOT mark the pkg. as a firearm and follow the USPS rules (ref. DMM 601 Mailability, sections 12.0 thru 12.2 inclusive) which you can find on the USPS website. Hope this helps.

RangerClay
I had to ship a pistol for repairs a few years ago. I asked the dealer if i had to send it through a FFL dealer. He told me me to ship it in 2 pieces. No FFL needed to ship gun parts.
