Weekend Woodsmen
It has been an awful year for us in north east Ohio. The deer activity has been minimal and the weather has been awful on the weekends we have been out. All that considered my buddy was able to get his buck with a bow, and it was our first kill on camera. I think I had as much of an adrenaline rush as he did and I was behind the camera! How has the rut been for the rest of you?

MUDRUNNER
Nice footage! I enjoyed the tracking and gps stuff you had in there to. That deer went a long ways. Great job sticking with it and finding him. I thought the shot was a little better than that when I first seen it, but playing it back in slow mo it was definitely a little back. hoytshooter09
Thats one thing I love about having the shot on video u can go back and see exactly where the shot was it tells u a ton on how you should go about trackin the deer. I was watching it on camera after the fact I kept telling my buddy I don't think you hit that far back, but when you see it in slow motion on the big screen you can tell it was definitely back there. Luckily he was to my left so he had more of a quartering away shot than the camera angle suggests. When we gutted him we did find that it hit one lung and liver along with stomach. Still goes to show they can go a LONG way and when it doubt back out!
Ravin R10 man
I figure it was about a ten yard shot..15 at best..goes to show you even a close shot, things can go south in the heat of the battle. If it wasn't for the quartering shot, that could have turned out bad. Kinda figured he clipped a lung, besides the liver. Funny how he made full circle on you too.. GPS was cool but was hard to see curser at first..

Goes to show why you have to stay put and if you are going to back out you have to do it as quietly as possible. We were lucky that he crossed the road too, real easy to pick up blood on a road and saved us a couple hundred yards for tracking!
