RangerClay
My best friend was putting on a drive Saturday near a stream. When he suddenly walked up on a bedded small 6 point buck looking away. It was only 30 feet away from him. The buck never knew he was there or turned to look. He shot the buck on the left side of the neck and we took it home. At the time, the only problem with the buck was small wound on a hind foot that caused some swelling. The next day he skinned out the buck and was verysurprised to find that all of the deers fat was pink. The buck did have some pin point bruising that you can see on the right shoulder that we feel was caused from fighting. Have you ever seen this "pink fat" before? Do you think that it is bruising? Ravin R10 man
I'll bet he was feverish..Id throw it away..consult with DNR too not just my opinion You sure no buckshot was the cause of the bruising? wtnhunt
Nope, never seen it pink like that Joe. Like Martin said, would get in touch with someone who could tell you if it was safe or not.

dbHunterNY
there's very little fat on that deer too. usually I find quite a bit on top of the back straps that has hardly any. ....I agree with Martin I'm thinking some kind of fever or illness is the only thing that would do that.
