Guest gastj
Last night driving next to a North/South hwy. I'd say I saw 7+rafts of divers(even a few Cans.) and a couple thousand puddle ducks in the thawed end of two large ponds that are dug for the dirt to make the off ramps. Been seeing a lot just hanging out in open water resting and waiting. It is funny since didn't see them there during season. It's like they know. waterfowler_gal
Re: waiting for melt or resting The ducks are pairing off like crazy--it's so amazing to watch. Tons of honkers in the sky and ducks EVERYWHERE! Man I could sit and watch them all day! They know they are safe right now that's for sure.... Minnesota just announced opener will be on October 1st... And the countdown BEGINS!

[/ QUOTE ] It gets kinda weird at the golf course I work at. Drakes will chase the hens around untill there too tired to run anymore. I have had hens run up to and under a parked golf cart i was sitting in too get away. still to cold here i think.....the ducks where still doing there thing into early june last year. RTF
Re: waiting for melt or resting The geese are late very late this year here in te Northeast. My nesting ponds are all still covered with snow and ice. But I will tell you that one week of mild weather can change that.
