RangerClay
time to "take out" NY officials I'd say! (At the voting booth just to clarify)...don't need no stinkin thinned skinned politically correct sensitivity police knockin on my door The NYC and Long Island region is the land of the "Libs" and dictate how we upstate New Yorkers live. You have a better chance of seeing Chuck Norris come out of the closet then see NYC become conservative.
dbHunterNY
yea it's really important to get ALL gun owner's out to vote. forget guns and we've still got a Governor and all the NYC backing pushing Common Core schooling and all the shady stuff people don't know about. this SAFE Act and other related stuff that got passed were huge blows to our rights. there's all kinds gun control bills are not moving through but just waiting for sponsors and movement in the senate or assembly. every single one pretty much comes from NYC representatives. pretty soon more of this mess will kick in that already passed. thought it was bad that Midway, Cabelas, BassPro, Natchez SS, and others online were sold out of ammo. well now it won't even be an option. local ammo prices are going to go up a lot because as a NY resident you don't have many other options. dbHunterNY
if you go vote but your buddy you hunt or shoot with sits at home. you might as well not even go. NYC has too many voters to control your rights if they want to. same thing applies elsewhere in other states i'm sure. so much business has up and left NY related to the gun industry. now teachers are getting pushed around with common core stuff. voting is one of the most basic rights you've got. you've got to be an educated voter. you should know where those you vote for stand. stevebeilgard
hey. we do need more gun laws. it's all those great laws that make new york city, chicago, and detroit so safe and such wonderful places to raise a family. The Bug House
The NYC and Long Island region is the land of the "Libs" and dictate how we upstate New Yorkers live. You have a better chance of seeing Chuck Norris come out of the closet then see NYC become conservative. That's why all the smart ones leave! lol I'm from LI and lived upstate for a while, but I just didn't think I could afford to live anywhere in NYS. We still own the camp and 12 acres in the ADK's, and it bothers me that we're under Albany's thumb. NNY is so radically different that SNY, it's amazing how many people down there are absolutely clueless. I posted similar sentiment following hurricane Sandy, millions of clueless people without a self sufficient bone in their body. Recipe for disaster. I graduated HS on Long Island in 1992, I was on the Rifle Team. The school had (Still has? Mothballed?) a beautiful 4 lane range in the basement, we had a safe full of rifles. Can't even imagine that now. ETA: I forgot to add that my graduating year was the last year the rifle team existed. Ravin R10 man
I hear ya Bug....we used to have a .22 cal. range in the basement of our grade school... one year we had our Christmas school program grades 1 thru 8 with a gym full of kids and parents.. NOW imagine this..; the Rifle club had a match the SAME eve....!!!! I saw men walking into the back school entrance with cased high precision .22 cal rifles, they walked in among the kids coming in...and headed down to the basement. We rode to school that eve. with my Dad as he was one of the club members, nobody gave it a second thought.
stevebeilgard
i used to carry a shotgun on the school bus, put it in the coat closet, and go hunting after school. how sick and thwarted, huh? in the 50's it would never cross our minds to shoot someone. i was after rabbits and pheasants.
