SourthenILdeerhunter
What's a good cheap but reliable pistol. I'll be turning 21 in a few weeks so I'll be able to buy a pistol. On reality this will also need to serve as a ccw.
smha6784
Keltec PF-9, is what I carry think I paid $329, it wasn't much. Shoots good enough. My next carry pistol will be a ruger LCP REVOLVER talk about sweet!!!
Maine Hntr
For a little more you can probably get a S&W, I have the M&P 9, good gun!
colorado bob
I bought a S&W 638 airweight for my CCW. I paid $399. I like revolvers----no safety, no exposed hammer and every time I pull the trigger it goes BANG. FYI---I got it as a Christmas present to myself. terry264
cheap and reliable = Hi Point C9 probably. Perform flawlessly (mine do), made in Ohio, and have lifetime warranty (even if sold-for next buyer). The JHP45 I shoot a lot is more controllable and easier to control than the 709 (9mm) slim from Taurus. Also the hi point is about half the price of anything else and built just like a glock imo. Check them out.
The Bug House
This thread caught my eye and I was going to post Hi-Point as well. I bough a JCP in the .40S&W (They make a .45ACP as well) and found it to perform flawlessly. Granted I'm no gunsmith or marksman, but I did put about 2500 reloads through it without 1 misfeed or jam or anything. It's large and heavy, but accurate. SourthenILdeerhunter
Defiantly looking at a hi point. My manager was giving me crap about it. But the way I look at it since I'm a beginner pistol shooter way get something I can't really afford versus what I can.
swohiodave
You can buy some of the newer S&W's for a fair price. My brother in law bought a high point and sent it back due to failures to extract the spent casing. I would go Taurus before hi point. I believe with guns you get what you pay for and you better be sure you trust to life to any gun you own. Stay within your budget but handle as many firearms as possible, keep looking until you find one that fits your hand.
