Leaking dakota pintail decoys

Wanted to let everyone know about a problem we are having with dakota pintail floater decoys. I run a commercial waterfowl operation in NC and have been in business for about 30 years. We hunt everyday of waterfowl season and own thousands of decoys. This year we purchased some of dakota decoys new pintail floaters. The drakes all leak. Called the company and spoke with the owner whom is a real nice fellow. He informed me that they do leak if left out and not picked up daily. He suggested drilling a hole in the tail and draining as needed. This is not an acceptable option for a commercial hunting operation as we deal with so many decoys. The company did not offer to replace the decoys. These decoys are expensive and leakers are unacceptable no matter what the price. I really liked the decoys when I got them so I hate that they do leak but I will not be buying any more. G and H still makes the best pintail floater on the market today. They are expensive but they are worth it. Hope this helps with your future decoy purchases. It should be noted that dakota decoys said they hope to work out the bugs with this problem but for now it is a problem and with no offer to replace them ,another brand of decoys would be your better option. Good hunting to everyone. Capt. Ken Dempsey
