dbHunterNY
A big deer got hit in the road right in the middle of the rush hour traffic tonight. it was dark so I couldn't see if it had pedicels where it may have shed antlers, but the deer was huge. it was paralyzed in the hind quarters so it was flailing around on up on its front legs in the center lane. hope cops or DEC came along quick to dispatch it. hope it was a big buck. late at night we've seen giants cross in that one spot. good thing it wasn't me that hit it either. Maine Hntr
yeah hate to see him make it off into the woods and suffer the night like that.
dbHunterNY
I meant I hope it was NOT a big buck. just picked up on that looking at the thread again.
Ravin R10 man
I knew what you meant db.. I called my warden, get permission to dispatch it ,..then take it home for him to check out. He would issue me a tag to salvage it. Prob. took care of 6 or 8 deer like that. At least it was off the road and put out of misery.
Stinger-Hunter
I saw one hit not far from Chicago (evanston, IL) All the forest preserves keep those babies protected.
Ravin R10 man
Deer are now getting hit out on roads., saw several this week along highways...may be trying to migrate out of deep snow to better feed?
