Adjam5
MY son Joe picked up a Mossberg MVP in 5.56. It is a bolt gun that takes standard AR mags. Since it is chamberd for 5,56, it will also shoot .223. Last week Joe and I put the gun through it paces and broke it in. Breaking in a new barrel is a PITA. I used Montana bore solvent for the barrel seasoning. All said and done. We had this rifle shooting quarter sized groups at 100 yds. The rifle was topped with Warne Medium rings and a Redfield Revolution in 3x9x40. The ammo it seemed to like the most was the 50gr V Max. It shot the 55gr FMJ fine also. Some of the negatives about this rifle is...The bolt doesn't always chamber a round. We thought we were short stroking the bolt. But that wasn't the case. The magazine had a lot to do with the feeding issues. There is also what many call magazine slop. It does not lock up like you would think a mag should. Most likely the cause of the feeding problems. We used a 10rd P-Mag and replaced the factory mag. It locked up better in the mag well, but the occasional feeding issues still came up now and then. Overall, the rifle was accurate, recoil was nothing, fit and finish looked great, but there is too much plastic/polymer on the rifle in the action area. I don't like that. The barrel is fluted and the bolt has fluting also. Good shooter and excellet varmint gun.

Thanks for posting the review. Still lack about 20 rounds to finish out break in on my last rifle, the dpms i picked up last year.
